About the role

This is a hands-on position suited to a skilled Watchmaker who is comfortable working across a broad range of quality Swiss mechanical watches and can manage repairs from initial assessment through to completion. You will join a professional and well-equipped workshop with a strong and consistent volume of service and repair work.

Key responsibilities

• Assessment and diagnosis of mechanical watches
• Servicing, repairing and overhauling Swiss mechanical movements
• Disassembly, cleaning, lubrication, assembly and regulation
• Testing completed watches for accuracy, performance and reliability
• Preparing repair estimates and quotations
• Identifying, sourcing and ordering required parts
• Recording work performed and maintaining accurate service records
• Updating repair and job information using computer-based systems
• Managing your workload and completing repairs within reasonable timeframes
• Maintaining a clean, organised and professional workshop environment

About you

• At least 5 years of professional watchmaking experience
• Recognised watchmaking qualifications or formal industry training
• Strong experience with Swiss mechanical watches
• Sound knowledge of automatic, manual-wind and complicated movements
• Excellent diagnostic and fault-finding ability
• Experience with professional watchmaking tools and testing equipment
• Experience preparing quotations and ordering parts
• Good computer skills and the ability to confidently use workshop, inventory and general business systems
• Strong organisational skills
• A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
