We're looking for an experienced Maintenance Fitter with proven thermoforming machinery experience, ideally gained on MULTIVAC equipment, to join a highly successful food manufacturing operation located in Perth's southern suburbs.

Shift Pattern
This role operates across rotating shifts:
Early Shift: 5:00am - 1:00pm
Afternoon Shift: 1:00pm - 9:00pm
Flexibility to support production requirements and occasional breakdown response is essential.

The Role

As a key member of the maintenance team, you'll be responsible for ensuring the reliability, efficiency and performance of sophisticated thermoforming and packaging equipment within a fast-paced production environment.

Your duties will include:

• Preventative and reactive maintenance on thermoforming and packaging machinery
• Mechanical fault finding and troubleshooting
• Breakdown diagnosis and repair
• Line changeovers and machine optimisation
• Continuous improvement initiatives
• Root cause analysis of recurring equipment failures
• Working closely with production and engineering teams to maximise uptime
• Installation and commissioning of new equipment

Thermoforming Experience is Essential
We're specifically seeking candidates who understand the complexities of thermoforming systems, including:

• Forming stations
• Heating systems and heating plates
• Vacuum and compressed air systems
• Sealing stations
• Cutting and punching systems
• Servo-driven machinery
• Film feed and tension control systems
• MAP (Modified Atmosphere Packaging) systems
• Vacuum packaging technology
• Tooling changes and optimisation
• Conveyor integration and automated product handling

Experience with the following equipment will be highly regarded:

• MULTIVAC Thermoformers
• MULTIVAC R-Series Machines
• Vacuum Packaging Systems
• High-Speed Food Packaging Lines
• Automated Packaging and Processing Equipment

About You

You are a trade-qualified Maintenance Fitter with a strong background in manufacturing, food production, packaging, or processing environments.

You'll bring:

• Mechanical Trade Qualification
• Demonstrated thermoforming machinery experience (essential)
• MULTIVAC experience (highly desirable)
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Pneumatic and hydraulic systems experience
• Ability to work independently and under pressure
• Commitment to safety and preventative maintenance practices
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
